Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way. Whether it’s a major life transition, the stress of balancing work and family, or deep-seated anxiety that seems to have no clear cause, we can all find ourselves feeling overwhelmed. But that doesn’t mean you have to navigate this alone. At our women-owned, Christian counseling practice, our licensed therapists are here to offer a safe, supportive space where you’re allowed to process your emotions, heal from past wounds, and find renewed strength.
And with over 15 years of experience, every one of our therapists are fully dedicated to helping you uncover the root of your struggles. Our professional counseling services are designed to make you feel seen, heard, and understood. This means that, whether you’re seeking guidance on parenting, dealing with anxiety, or working on your relationship, we’re here to help you break through and move forward with hope. Our mental health counselors have also been featured in local media for our work in both parenting and athletic mental health, and we’re truly passionate about serving our community, including those from the LDS population.
In our individual therapy sessions, we focus on you as a whole person. Your mental health, physical well-being, relationships, and even your nutrition are all interconnected, and with this in mind, we work with you to create a plan that addresses every part of your life, helping you break old patterns to achieve true balance and wellness.
Maintaining relationships can be incredibly difficult, and it’s easy to feel like you and your partner are stuck in a cycle of miscommunication. We understand, which is why, in our couples therapy, we provide a structured, safe environment where you can rebuild your connection. We help you both communicate your needs and feelings more effectively, allowing you to move toward a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.
Parenting can be one of the most rewarding yet challenging experiences of someone’s life, and maintaining proper health while raising children can be even more difficult. That’s why, whether you’re dealing with the emotional toll of divorce, struggling with grief or loss, managing addiction in the family, or facing mental health concerns, we’re here to support you. Our goal is to help both you and your family thrive, even in the face of difficult circumstances.
For athletes, mental wellness is the key to obtaining, and maintaining, peak performance. With this in mind, we specialize in helping athletes manage the pressures of competition, cope with setbacks, and maintain the healthy balance that one needs between sports and life.
When trauma has left you feeling stuck, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (or EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (or ART) both offer transformative paths to healing. These therapies are both cutting-edge methods that can help you process traumatic events without having to relive your pain, and they work by helping you reframe difficult memories so that they no longer hold power over you. In fact, many clients report significant relief in just a few sessions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (or CBT) helps you recognize how your thoughts shape your emotions and behaviors. By becoming more aware of your thinking patterns, you can learn to challenge negative beliefs and replace them with more positive, realistic ones. CBT is especially effective for treating anxiety and depression, but it’s a versatile therapy that can benefit anyone looking to improve their mental health.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (or DBT) can equip you with practical tools that are necessary for managing intense emotions. In particular, DBT teaches you mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, helping you build healthier relationships with yourself and others. Through DBT, you can learn to accept your emotions while still striving for positive change, leading to greater emotional balance and resilience.
Think of your mind as an orchestra, with different parts of you playing different roles. Sometimes, those parts can feel at odds with each other; and when they do, they can cause inner conflict within you. If this is the case with you, Internal Family Systems (or IFS) can help you listen to each part of yourself with compassion, allowing you to heal past wounds and create harmony within. IFS is a powerful tool for self-discovery, one that can help you build a deeper connection with your true self.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (or ACT) teaches you to embrace your thoughts and feelings rather than fighting against them. By accepting your inner experiences, you can face your challenges head-on while also taking meaningful action to improve your life. ACT also helps you live in the present moment, aligned with your deepest values, so you can create a life that feels rich and fulfilling.
Anxiety affects many people in different ways. For some, it might be linked to a stressful life event, like graduating from school, losing a job, marriage, the birth of a child, or the death of a loved one. For others, it might manifest as a fear of leaving home, known as agoraphobia. Anxiety disorders can also arise from medical conditions, bringing on intense panic or fear. Or, perhaps you feel constant worry over daily events—this is known as generalized anxiety.
Panic attacks are another form of anxiety that can strike out of the blue, leaving you feeling frightened and out of control. Social anxiety, too, can keep you from fully engaging in life, as the fear of judgment or embarrassment causes you to retreat. Substance-induced anxiety, caused by drug misuse or certain medications, can also take a toll on your mental health.
Regardless of the type of anxiety you’re facing, know that you don’t have to fight it alone. At New Leaf, our licensed therapists offer a variety of anxiety treatment options, all of which are tailored to help you regain control of your life and find peace.
